7190 'Mennonite Made Pillowcase Doll' £29.00

This is a new, home made in America, Amish or Prairie style doll, beautifully made by a Mennonite lady. 'Amish style doll' - that is, one with no embroidered features on the face as the Amish believe it's wrong to make graven images, (they also don't like having photographs taken of their faces for the same reason) children use their imagination instead to pretend the doll is asleep or awake. This doll has a dress made out of a delightful hand worked vintage pillowcase with peacocks and flowers on it.
Age - The doll has been newly made, and the pillowcase used for the dress is vintage. Dolls body has been signed and dated by maker.
Where from - Ohio.
Hand Sewn - Hand embroidery/crocheting on pillowcase. Navy blue ribbons.
Machine Sewn - Yes.
Materials Used - White cotton, modern polyester stuffing. Nylon lace trim.
Measurements - Approximately 22 inches from top of bonnet to hem of dress.
Stains - The pillowcase has a few brown marks on the front and back. It would have been too nice to cut up if it had been pristine!
Notes - Postage on this item is £3.00 Dress and bonnet are sewn on, not removable.
