A lovely soft to the touch, hand sewn quilt with a large patchwork selection of pretty
shirting and blouse calicoes which contrast beautifully with the plain
pink. Some fading of the pink, but apart from that in excellent condition!Age - Circa 1920's, perhaps earlier. Where from - Oregon. Hand Sewn - Yes, all hand sewn in very neat stitches, even the long seams on the backing are hand sewn. Hand Quilted - Yes. Hand Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - Plain pink cotton with a large selection of
cotton patches, lots of Turkey reds and indigo blues, interesting array
of shirtings and blouse fabrics. Batting - Medium thickness, cotton batting. Backing Material - Plain pink cotton. Measurements - Approximately 86 inches by 68 inches, shown on a 5ft wide King sized bed. Fraying - No. Holes - No. Stains - There is uneven pink fabric dye loss from the plain pink, shown in photos. Washed - Yes, a gentle hand wash in cold water to avoid further pink colour loss.
