Beautiful Friendship quilt in good condition with a gorgeous roses
and bird sashings print. Lovely cheerful hand embroidered baskets with
the following names on the blocks - Mariel, Velma, Addie, Yvonne, Ann?,
Lena, Maye, Ada, Jeanette, Mama, Nettie, Ethel and Maisie.Age - Circa 1930's - 1940's. Where from - Texas. Hand Sewn - The baskets and flowers have been very neatly hand appliqued and embroidered. Machine Sewn - Yes. Hand Quilted - Yes. Machine Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - A plain cream cotton has been used for the
background which is in excellent condition. Each basket body is a
different cotton print, mainly floral prints, one is a cute bunny
family and dog print. The sashings is a lovely roses and bird cotton
print in soft shades. There is a nice bright pink contrasting hem
binding. The embroidery colours are different each of the baskets, for
some reason one of the flower centres has no embroidery. Perhaps the
friend, Velma who made this block didn't have time to finish her
embroidery? Batting - Thin to medium thickness, cottn batting. Backing Material - The same cream cotton as on the front. Measurements - Approximately 81 inches by 63 inches. Slightly uneven rectangle. Fraying - No. Holes - No. Stains - No. Washed - Washed. Notes - The quilt is shown in the photos on a King size 5ft wide bed.
