0751 'Rolling Stone or Johnnie Round the Corner' £210.00

This large sized, fabulous late 1800's quilt has the most detailed neat hand quilting in tiny stitches, a real labour of love. The backing is a lovely 'homespun' style check fabric which contrasts beatifully with the front. Not suitable for everyday use as any tugging of the quilt might damage it, but a great quilt to display on the bed during the day, guest bedroom, or use as a display quilt elsewhere in the house. A wonderful example of American patchwork history.

Measurements - Approximately 83 inches by 80 inches.
Fraying - There is some 'whiskering' of the fine binding on the red hemming in a couple of places and on one of the sashing areas near the hem are a couple of small areas where the fabric has thinned, please see close up photos.
Holes - Where the above mentioned thinning of fabric has occured, and there is one baked bean sized hole in the cream calico on one of the patchwork blocks.
