A
worn antique quilt with age stains, still with its own beautiful charm,
softened through time and faded to a lovely calm
colouring. Age - Circa late 1800's. Where from - Nebraska. Hand Sewn - Yes. Hand Quilted - Yes, in the Baptist Fan pattern. Machine Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - The cottons are worn to a fine softness, and
faded throughout - the darker blue indigo calicoes are less faded, the
paler blues are very pale. The sashing material was originally a calico
in a stripe pattern which is now almost totally faded away. Batting - Very thin cotton batting. Backing Material - White, muslin type cotton. Measurements - Approximately 78 inches by 76 inches. Fraying - The faded corner of the quilt which has the age
browning, alss has some fraying, please see photo number nine, if you
look closely you can see the frayed material. Holes - Where there is the above mentioned fraying. Holes all the way through - No. Stains - There are many brown storage marks over the front of
the quilt, please see photos, plus the frayed corner mentioned above
has faded and has 'age browning'. Washed - Yes.
