A fresh looking quilt in bright white with gorgeous calico cottons, including various indigo blues, browns and blacks. Lovely detailed hand quilting.
Age - Circa late 1800's - early 1900's.
Where from - Texas.
Hand and machine sewn - there is a mixture of neat hand sewing and machine sewing in the patchwork.
Hand Quilted - Yes, lovely hand sewing with a detailed circular pattern in the white blocks.
Hand Hemmed - Yes.
Materials Used - Bright white with a selection of calicoes typical from this era, including indigo blues, browns and blacks.
Batting - Thin thickness, cotton batting.
Backing Material - White cotton.
Measurements - Approximately 84 inches by 74 inches.
Fraying - A couple of patches have some slight fraying.
Holes - There are a couple of very small holes on the top side of the quilt, but you have to look hard to see them.
Holes all the way through - No.
Stains - Yes, there are a few marks on the front, a little fabric bleed from one of the brown/pink calicoes, and the backing has several marks, particularly along one edge where there are some dark brown marks and yellowing, please see photos.
Washed - By the previous owner.
