A practical quilt from more recent years, which appears to have
never been used. Sure to brighten up any bedroom with a stunning
selection of bright rainbow shades. Age - Unknown, appears to be fairly new. Where from - Texas. This pattern is sometimes called Start of Texas. Machine Sewn - Yes. Hand Quilted - Yes. Hand Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - A rainsbow selection of bright plain cottons
set into white, with royal blue in the hem and top and bottom borders.
I'm not totally certain if the fabrics are 100% cotton, slight chance
they could be cotton/polyester mix. Batting - Thin to medium thickness, lightweight polyester batting. Backing Material - Navy cotton. Measurements - Approximately 77 inches by 71 inches. (Shown on a 5ft wide, King Size bed and a standard single bed). Fraying - No. Holes - There are a couple of minute snags which you would have to look very hard to spot. Stains - A couple of small marks on the front, shown in photos.
These are more likely to be from when the quilt was made, rather than
from use, as there were lots of sewers end threads which I have snipped
off, giving the impression that the quilt was made, stored away and
never used. Washed - Yes. Notes - Lone Star or Star of Bethlehem quilts are usually only
attempted by experienced quilt makers as the necessary accurate piecing
of the diamonds has to be precise. The last photo shows one diamond patch which is a little puckered.
