A Depression Years quilt, made up mainly of feedsack prints. Every
last scrap of fabric was put to good use to make this colourful, warm
quilt. Pretty floral backing.Age - Circa 1930's - 1940's. Where from - North Carolina. Hand Sewn - Most of the patchwork is hand sewn. Machine Sewn - The pink stripes have been machine sewn and some machine sewing in the patchwork. Hand Quilted - Yes, in fairly large stitches due to the fairly thick cotton batting. Hand Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - All cottons, many types of feedsack cottons. Batting - Medium thickness, cotton batting. Backing Material - Two types of floral feedsack cottons. Measurements - Approximately 75 inches by 67 inches. Fraying - No. Loose Seams - A couple of loose seams. Holes - Yes, please see photos, there is one pea sized hole in the plain pink cotton. Holes all the way through - No. Stains - Yes, there are some fairly large light stains which I
have tried to show in the photos, this in reflected in the price of
