This is a single sized quilt in beautiful red and white wide
stripes, in excellent condition. Highly sought after colour combination!Age - Circa early 1900's - 1920's. The previous owner thought
that the quilt was late 1800's but I would estimate a more recent era.
Red and white quilts are notoriously hard to fix a date on. Where from - Massachusetts. Machine Sewn - I would say yes, but it's hard to tell for
definite, the long strips may possibly be hand sewn with the tiniest of
neat stitches. Hand Quilted - Yes, in a simple squares pattern. Hand Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - Plain white cotton, and a red cotton with a tiny white dotted print. Batting - Thin to medium thickness, cotton batting. Backing Material - A nice soft, unbleached cotton calico. Measurements - Approximately 74 inches by 62 inches. Fraying - No. Holes - No. Stains - A couple of tiny marks. Washed - Yes. Notes - Postage on this smaller quilt will be £5.00
