A lightweight Log Cabin quilt, in the 'Straight Furrows' pattern,
with lovely examples of early 1900's prints. Has 'puckering', so would
be ideally suited to use folded over the back of a sofa etc. as the
quilt lies flatter when folded. Age - The quilt top appears to be older than the backing, with
fabrics typical of the early 1900's, while the backing material is
circa 1920s, so it's likely that the top was made and the backing put
on at a later date. Where from - California. Machine Sewn - Yes. Hand Quilted - Yes, in an X shape over each block. Machine Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - The log cabin strips are made up on the darker
sides with a lovely selection of indigo blues, cranberry reds, Turkey
reds, black and white prints, and the lighter sides with calicoes
typical of this era. Batting - This is a light quilt and has no batting, just the front patchwork and backing. Backing Material - A patterned cotton. Measurements - Circa 92 inches by 78 inches. Fraying - No. Loose Seams - No. Holes - No. Stains - Yes, there is one stain shown in the photos, which goes through to the backing. Washed - Yes. Notes - Postage on this item will be £5.00
