0373 'Grandmother's Flower Garden' £89.00

A very soft quilt in the ever popular Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern. Over 1,500 hand sewn patches. Bright and cheerful to remind you of flowers all year round!
Age - The quilt top appears to be circa 1940's, but as there is a polyester batting, the quilt must have been put together at a later date.
Where from - Kansas.
Hand Sewn - Yes.
Hand Quilted - Yes.
Hand Hemmed - Yes. Two sides are scalloped, the other two sides are gently shaped.
Number of Patches - Over 1,500 small hexagon patches!
Materials Used - Multi coloured patches in the flower, with a plain dark orangey/yellow representing the sun in the middle, and the plain green representing the greenery in the garden, the white representing the paths.
Batting - Medium thickness, polyester.
Backing Material - Soft, fairly open weave, white cotton.
Measurements - Approximately 85 inches by 82 inches (measured into the scalloped edges).
Fraying - Yes, several of the patches have frayed, two have been replaced. A very small amount of fraying on hem area.
Loose Seams - Yes, there are some loose seams between the hexagon patches which could do with sewing together.
Holes - Where there is fraying. One small darn on the backing. The backing has a few small holes where the fabric is such a soft, fairly open weave cotton and it has frayed a little. 
Holes all the way through - No.
Stains - A couple of very small marks. Some of the green blocks have fading, please see photos.
Washed - Yes.
