A very bright and sunny unfinished quilt. The patches have been
neatly handsewn together, and a batting and backing tacked to the top -
this would make a lovely project for someone who loves quilting but
doesn't enjoy the piecing together of patches! Certain to make any room sunny looking.Age - Circa 1940's - 1950's. Where from - Washington State. Hand Sewn - Yes. Hand Quilted - Seven of the flower shapes have been hand quilted, the rest need to be done. Materials Used - Very colourful plain and patterned cottons. A new white cotton batting and new calico backing have been used. Batting - A thin to medium thickness, cotton batting. Backing Material - Off white, nice and soft, calico cotton. Measurements - The measurements of the patchwork top, not
including the overlapping backing and batting are approximately 87
inches by 68 inches. One side of the backing and batting has a large surplus on one side as you can see in the photos. Fraying - No. Holes - A couple of tiny holes in the top, looks like the quilt was snagged on something. Holes all the way through - No. Stains - A few small marks. Washed - No.
