This is a colourful Bow Ties quilt, which would make a good
decorative throw for over the back of a sofa or a light cover for a
single bed.Age - Circa 1940's - 1950's. Where from - Missouri. Hand Sewn - The bow ties are hand sewn in lovely neat stitches. Machine Sewn - The bow tie blocks have been machine set into the cream cotton. Hand Quilted - Hand tied with bright orange threads. Machine Hemmed - Yes. Materials Used - Dark pink print cotton printsinset into an off white cotton which appears to be feedsack cotton. Batting - There is no batting, just the front and back layers 'tied' together. Backing Material - Off white cotton, appears to be bleached 4 feedsacks joined together to make the backing. Measurements - Approximately 72 inches by 54 inches. Fraying - No. Holes - No. Stains - There are some stains - a couple of fairly large light marks on the fron. There is some sun fading of the bow ties, if you look at the photos you can see that some are paler than others. Washed - Yes. Notes - Postage on this light quilt will be £4.50
